Chameleon area

The chameleon area is the top right quadrant of the map in Animal Well. It is color coded green on the map. The area contains the V. flame, accessing which requires beating the chameleon boss.

Three rooms of the area wrap around the right edge of the map: the Plant Egg room, the Friendship Egg room with the snail island, and the Future Egg and vine rabbit room.

Requirements

The bottom half of the area ends with acquiring the slink. Accessing the second half of the area with the chameleon boss room also requires the yoyo.

Connections

The bottom half is connected to the central area through a ladder, while the top half is connected to the well shaft through a small opening. The room with the Chaos Egg on the right edge of the map is connected via a ladder to the swordfish room in the dog area. The bear head connects the chameleon area to the shortcut room.

Entrances

The room with the Friendship Egg, which is technically located in the chameleon area, can be entered via a series of fish head pipes, which starts in the seahorse area, near the Magic Egg.

Items

The slink can be acquired about half way through the area. Two regular keys as well as one match can be found in the chameleon area. Beating the chameleon boss gives access to the V. flame in the top left corner of the area. The S medal can be found at the location of the second chameleon encounter after beating the chameleon boss.
