Central area

The central area of the map in Animal Well consists of the egg room, the beacon room, and the well shaft.

Connections

A ladder connects the beacon room to the starting area. The second telephone save point is located just to the left of this ladder. All other areas of the map can be accessed from the beacon room. The seahorse area is just to the left at the bottom, which can also be accessed via a hidden tunnel with the Virtual Egg. The dog area can be accessed via a ladder in the top left corner. The ostrich area is just past the pixel display on the bottom right. The entrance to the chameleon area is accessed via a ladder next to the mallard on the right, past two hummingbirds. The crow head, located a couple of rooms past the egg room, leads to the shortcut room.

Filling in all four beacons with flames opens the gate in the floor, which leads to the manticore area. With the lantern, the house can be accessed from the top of the well shaft through a vertical ghostly bird.

Entrances

The central area can be entered through a fish head pipe which starts near the B. flame and via the top of the well warp song.

Items

Several unique items can be picked up in the egg room and the area behind it. The stamps can be picked up without any obstacles, other items are locked behind gates until a certain number of eggs is collected: the animal flute for eight eggs, the pencil for 16, the top for 32, and the 65th Egg for collecting all 64 regular eggs. The office key requires finding all eggs and solving their puzzle.

After the initial encounter with the kangaroo in the ostrich area, K shards can be acquired in the beacon room in the central area, on the same screen as the mallard. Two matches can be found in the area, one near the entrance to the dog area and the second – in the well shaft.

• Two hummingbirds are preventing the use of bubbles for accessing the Truth Egg

Bunnies

• Duck bunny
• Pixel display bunny – technically in the ostrich area, but entrance to its small cave is near the pixel display in the central area.
• UV bunny can be encountered in a wide range around the central area.
