Lynx

The Lynx is a loud, moaning animal in Animal Well. Five kittens are kept in cages while a giant motherly variant can be seen in one room at the extreme right edge of the map. It is necessary to save all kittens from the cagers to gain access to the wheel.

Interactions

• Interrupting the mother lynx while it is trying to meow the song to unlock the cage containing the wheel chest will eventually cause it to stop trying and be mad at you, though it won't attack and will attempt again to sing if you leave and return to the room.
• It is possible to play the song on the animal flute to unlock the wheel early without needing to rescue the kittens. If you obtain the wheel this way, instead of displaying the regular message when opening the chest, the game displays a broken message.

Kittens

Five lynx kittens are locked in cages in two rooms on the map. The cages can be found in the lower right quadrant, in the area just after the frog head warp. Three kittens will be found in cages, with another two further down. The hints to these are spread around this area, often requiring the top to access. Playing any notes near a cage will activate the sensor above it, after which it will begin detecting the inputs from the flute. The cage will only open if the correct notes are played in order; the sensors can be reset by putting away the flute and starting over.

⦜	←↓↙↘↑	53427	Found in the G. flame room by dropping a slink from the catfish head to activate an underwater button.

There is a 6th cage located in the lynx room, which unlocks the wheel. Its song unlocks after freeing the 5 lynx kittens. This song can be played on the flute to unlock the Wheel early in subsequent playthroughs:

Bugs

• The mother lynx is supposed to sing a distinguishable sequence you can repeat with your animal flute in other runs but it often doesn't play and it just looks like it is meowing the same note several times to unlock the cage.
