Kangaroo

The Kangaroo is an animal that will attack the player by hopping towards it, dealing one heart of damage on contact. Initially it will only be found in one room, but after the initial encounter will start to roam between different rooms in multiple areas. A Firecracker will cause it to retreat. Spooking it with the Firecracker will cause it to drop K. Shards which are used to complete the K. Medal. If the Kangaroo no longer drops any further shards, then all shards have already been collected and the player should head back to the statue to activate it.

Locations

Rooms where the Kangaroo can appear are specifically marked with UV Paint depiction of a Kangaroo that can be seen with the UV Wand.

Default location:

  • Mouse area: The room directly right when exiting the toad face shortcut.

After the initial encounter:

  1. Fish area: The room with the multiple fish statues, on the ground level near the egg room.
  2. Middle area: The room where the Mallard hangs out.
  3. Dog area: The room that has statues of dogs overlooking a bowl filled with grass.
  4. Exiting the squirrel shortcut, move rooms right twice, up twice, then right again.

Interactions

  • Throwing a firecracker in a room with the kangaroo will cause it to run away. It will also drop a K. Shard provided the player hasn't obtained all of the pieces already.
  • Playing the animal flute will cause the kangaroo to calm down, displaying a heart symbol, and not moving unless a firecracker is thrown.
  • Trapping the kangaroo in place and throwing multiple firecrackers makes it display a broken message. This is possible in the dog bowl room after opening the secret passage with the barcode bunny.
