Phones are save points in Animal Well. Interacting with the phone and saving preserves the progress in game (collected tools, items, and secret bunnies) and the state of the map. The last used telephone acts as a respawn point in the event of a death.
Saving is not possible during chase sequences with the ghost dog and the ostrich. During chases, interacting with the phone just brings up a pop-up with the text "no answer".
