Animal head

An inactive, unopened animal head.

Animal heads are fast travel portals in Animal Well. They respond to the player standing near a Flute Spot by having their eyes glow. If the animal flute is played at a flute spot, the animal head will open and it can be used a shortcut to move around the map.

Shortcut room

The warp room.

The shortcuts lead to a central room, also called warp room, fast travel room, and hub room (not to be confused with the beacon room). The shortcut room can be used in conjunction with some warp songs. The UV lantern is located in the shortcut room.

Interactions

• Its eyes light up if the head is unopened and the player stands near the flute spot.
• After playing the animal flute, the animal head will open, becoming a shortcut.

Each shortcut is represented by an animal:

• Dog: dog area
• Fish: seahorse area
• Squirrel: starting area
• Crow: egg shrine
• Bear: chameleon area
• Frog: ostrich area
• Hippopotamus: manticore area, leading to the Manticore boss and the house
• Eel: eel area
