Heart

The player's health is represented by hearts.

Up to four red hearts are replenished by consuming fruits. Additional four blue hearts can be replenished only by consuming blue fruits. Additional four yellow hearts can be acquired by consuming potions given by the groundhog.

Almost all attacks by hostile animals deal one heart of damage. A moving blue ghost deals four hearts of damage. Chinchillas and penguins can crush and kill the player, regardless of the amount of health. A Chameleon's bite deals eight hearts of damage to the player.

Touching metal spikes, stalactites, and stalagmites deals one heart of damage.
