Dog area
The dog area is the top left quadrant of the map in Animal Well. It contains the P. flame, which requires beating the ghost dog boss chase to obtain.
Requirements
The first half (color coded light pink on the map) of the dog area contains the dog shrine, where the disc can be obtained. The second half (color coded dark pink) requires the disc to get past a dog. Proceeding further into the second half of the area past the dog head shortcut requires both the disc and the slink. The area with the puzzles for the Crystal Egg wraps over the top edge of the map, but is technically part of the dog area. It requires both the B. ball and the remote to access.
Connections
The central area can be accessed via a ladder in the bottom right corner of the dog area. The P. flame room is connected to the dog elevator and the well shaft in the central area. A room with a crow slink puzzle on the right edge of the area, just below the P. flame room, is also connected to the dog elevator.
The swordfish room and the B. ball room on the left edge of the map are connected via a ladder to the chameleon area.
A room with a candle near the bottom edge of the dog area connects to the tall bubble fish room of the seahorse area.
The dog head connects the area to the shortcut room.
Entrances
A room with the Sweet Egg on the edge between the dog and central areas can be entered via a fish head pipe in the Jade Egg room in the ostrich area.
Exits
The fish head pipe in the passage, which can be opened with a dynamite charge between the two halves of the dog area, connects to the Jade Egg room in the ostrich area.
Items
The disc is acquired at the very start of the area, with the mock disc located slightly further in. Beating the ghost dog boss gives access to the P. flame at the top right corner of the area. After the initial encounter with the kangaroo in the ostrich area, K shards can be acquired in the grass bowl room in the dog area. The B. ball can be found after the giant bat boss, locked behind the kangaroo statue. Two matches and one regular key can be found in the area.
